Our Members:
WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE NATIONAL
COORDINATOR:
It
is my singular pleasure and honour to welcome you to the
HURINET-U website.
HURINET-U
is an ever growing and vibrant network of human
rights organizations in Uganda. We contribute
towards a society free of human rights violations
and abuse by building the capacity of our membership
to advance the human rights agenda in Uganda, as
well as undertake collective human rights advocacy
at National, Regional and
International level.
HURINET-U
currently has three programmes: (i) Capacity Building
and Network Development; (ii) Advocacy, Information
Exchange and Research; and (iii) the Human rights Fund.
The
initiatives that HURINET-U undertakes benefit a range of
actors and human rights defenders not only in Uganda,
but the whole of sub Saharan Africa and well beyond.
We are
greatly indebted to all who have contributed variably in
making HURINET-U a strong and vibrant network of human
rights organizations.
Even then,
the challenges that characterize the Human rights
terrain in the region are many and enduring.
We look
forward to your continued interest in our work,
encouragement, and support for better promotion,
protection, a realization of human rights in Uganda and
the region at large. You can contribute towards this
mission, by participating in the different initiatives
that HURINET-U is implementing or contributing time,
energy, ideas, material, technical or financial
resources.
We invite
you to explore the information resources on our website
and encourage you to get in touch with us for any
further assistance or sharing on issues of Human rights.
