I know a lot of y’all thinking, why do I even have to take the AsVab? Why? Just to make it simple. The ASVAB is a necessary tool for identifying the strengths and abilities of individuals seeking to join the military. It’s a comprehensive exam that covers a range of subjects like math, science, mechanics, electrical, arithmetic.
So everyone has to take it, and you have to at least score over a 31 to pass the ASVAB. Now, there are three different ways you could take the ASVAB. If you’re still in high school, you could do it at your high school. If they give the test, you could do it with the recruiter at the military interest processing station. Or you could take what is called the pie cat at home.
Hold up. Wait a minute. You only get one shot to take this pie cat and you have to coordinate it with the recruiter just because you’re at home. You do not want to cheat. You do not want to use the Internet to help you with this test.
Because when you actually go to meps to complete your physicals, you’re going to have to take a verification test to ensure that there wasn’t any funny business going on when you took the pikat at home. What? If you decide to take this test at meps, there’s a few things you should know. You would not be able to use a calculator. You would not be able to use your phone.
You would not be able to leave the testing area once you go into it. Unless in case of an emergence, you can’t even go into the testing room with formulas written down to help jog your memory. You have to have all that stuff memorized and be prepared before you even go in there. Because if you’re not and you fail, you have to wait 30 days until you could take the test to get so now I’m about to give you all some tips how to pass this asvat from my seven years of recruiting experience. One thing to remember is that your overall score, your AFQT, that’s your armed forces qualification test.
That is only composed of your arithmetic, your math knowledge, your word knowledge, and your paragraph comprehension. Everything like mechanics, science, electrical stuff. That stuff doesn’t affect your overall score. All that being said, we want to maximize our score in all areas because the higher we score on the ASVAB, the more job opportunities we could potentially qualify for. One thing to note, if you scored 99 on the AsVAb, that’s the highest you could score.
That does not mean that you can go into your recruiter’s office and tell them, hey, I got a 99. This is what I want. This is what you’re going to do for me. Check out the big brain on Brad. You’re a smart mother.
Doesn’t work like that. It just opens you up to more opportunity.
