The most important safety rule to follow is to never, under any circumstances use your generator indoors or in a poorly ventilated area.

Generators emit carbon monoxide, an invisible, odorless, and tasteless gas that can kill you in a few, short minutes. NEVER under any circumstances should you operate this machine indoors, in a tent, garage or inside any confined space. Additionally, never run your generator near an open window or doorway as the carbon monoxide gas can easily accumalate in these nearby rooms creating a deadly and toxic environment. Always run your generator on a flat, stable, well ventilated and dry location.

When starting your generator never have an appliance or electrical device plugged in and turned prior to starting the engine. Generally, its advised to let the engine stabilize before plugging anything into the generator’s outlet panel.
