Mid-Morning Smoothie

Mid-morning smoothies are always a quick and easy way to get essential vitamins and nutrients in us with out opening a packaged box snack. This is a great way to get a real energy boost when our breakfast has worn off.

To make it fun we add colorful straws or use fancy glasses to drink our smoothies.

Lately,  my main ingredients for smoothies begin with water, spinach, carrots and bananas. From there the sky is the limit.

The colors of the ingredients are beautiful.

These ingredients are what I had on my counter (or freezer) and they all blended well.

You can add some maple syrup or honey or even another banana for sweeter taste, which might be beneficial for kids.

Mid-Morning Smoothie

  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 6-8 baby carrots
  • 1-2 cups spinach (more or less)
  • 5-6 dates (or 2-3 big dates)
  • 1 peeled orange (I pre-blended oranges and froze them in ice cube trays)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 banana

Blend well. Use less water for a thicker smoothie.

Smoothies taste better with colorful straws.
