At my house, we love pancakes and waffles and all things you might put syrup on. Needless to say we can easily go through lots of Maple Syrup.
I try to keep some around and often blend fruits sweetened with the Maple Syrup to pour over pancakes, to stretch the syrup and decrease the amount of sugar in the early mornings.
This time I added some Maple Syrup to my kefir.
Kefir is full of good bacteria and yeasts that are necessary in the digestive system. A great probiotic. Check out my kefir post here.
I poured a cup of kefir into my blender and added a tablespoon or two Maple Syrup and pulsed to mix.
The result was a sweet-tangy syrup perfect for the french toast we were having. I loved it. My children, well, they tasted it but were much happier with the full-strength of the Maple Syrup. Well, this recipe was a winner for the adults, anyway. I’ll keep trying…
Maple Kefir Syrup
