Reviews for the Duro Max XP8500E Gas Powered Portable Generator says it is much quieter than his old 4400 watt generator and the idle down/up in relation to the power demand works great for him. It even operated fine when he took it out to work on some construction projects where no power was available. He says that for the price and the wattage the performance of the DuroMax XP8500E is worth it.
Another review said the DuroMax XP8500E is identical in specifications with another generator set but much cheaper. Its electric starter also works fine, and if the motor has to be started by hand, it is easily done, even by an elderly user. He also says it can be jump started like a car which is a useful option.
One reviewer said he had no problems even after he has used the unit for 18 months, but then the tires leaked down over time. Someone else was disappointed that he can’t find the low idle switch to conserve the fuel since the salesman who sold him the Duro Max XP8500E Gas Powered Portable Generator told him of this feature.
