Potato Slicer – Potato Chip Slicer
Making potato chips at home can be very fun and tasty! You will need a potato slicer to speed things up. Slicing with a knife takes some serious skill, and it’s slower too. I used a potato chip slicer, a mandolin slicer to be exact.
Mandolin slicers let me control the thickness of the cut and it works way faster than using a knife. This dedicated slicer can be used for vegetables if you want as well. Below are my favorite slicers.

Swissmar Borner V-Slicer Mandoline Set

Rating:
This is my favorite tool for slicing potatoes. The blade is very sharp so it cuts through things very easily! Just be sure you use the hand guard that’s included.
It comes with a 7mm and 3.5mm blade, and also a reversible slicing blade so you get a good variety of thicknesses.
It can also julienne your vegetables if you happen to need that too. The plastic is very tough, and it’s easy to clean this cutter. Just run it under water. Storage is easy as you can put all the components on the holder and everything stays together.

Progressive International Folding Mandoline Slicer

Rating:
This folding mandoline slicer is also a good choice for a lower cost slicer. You get the option for 3 thicknesses for slicing, thick, thin, and really thin. The blades on this slicer are also very sharp, so it will cut your potatoes with ease.
It also means you should probably take some extra precaution and wear some cut resistant gloves when working with this. Users have really enjoyed this slicer as well. It folds up so you can save some space when storing it. Dishwasher safe.

Bron Original Stainless Steel Mandolin Slicer

Rating:
This Bron slicer has a classic design from France and definitely on the higher-end of mandolin slicers. It comes with three adjustable blades and adjustable lever settings which in turn allows for hundreds of varieties of cuts.
One thing that makes this slicer appealing is the fold-out legs. This gives the slicer stability so you can focus on working the cuts instead of holding up the slicer.

Kyocera CSN-202-RD Adjustable Mandoline Slicer, Red (More Colors Too)

Rating:
This Kyocera mandolin slicer is small and is a great tool to use to quickly slice vegetables that all come out the same thickness. This model comes with four thickness settings: .5mm, 1.3mm, 2mm, and 3mm.
The idea behind a ceramic blade is that it is supposed to be sharper than stainless steel and retain is sharpness longer. Note that one user posted a poor review for this blade and was quickly rebutted by several users calling it his/her experience out as out of the norm. Other than that, this affordable mandolin slicer has received great reviews.
